Peoples National Bank

Peoples National Bank was established on January 16, 1976, originally under the name The El Paso County Bank in Woodmoor, Colorado. The bank underwent several changes in name and ownership throughout its history. On the same day it was established, it acquired the Bank of Woodmoor. In 1988, the institution changed its name to Peoples National Bank, became a member of the Federal Reserve System, and shifted its chartering agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The bank moved its main office several times, with notable relocations in 1999 to Colorado Springs and again in 2007, when it moved to 5175 North Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs. Peoples National Bank expanded its presence by acquiring other institutions, including Buena Vista Savings & Industrial Bank in 1989 and Colorado Springs Savings and Loan Association in 1997. In 2003, the bank changed its name to Peoples National Bank - Monument, before reverting to the original name in 2007. The bank’s operations continued until it was merged into NBH Bank on January 1, 2018, becoming part of its structure in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
