History Of Peoples Bank of Kankakee County
Peoples Bank of Kankakee County is a financial institution that was established on June 20, 1962, originally under the name Peoples Bank Marycrest. Over the years, the bank has undergone several changes in its name and organizational structure. On November 27, 1972, the institution changed its name to Peoples Bank Marycrest and relocated its main office to 1785 East Court Street in Kankakee, Illinois. The bank moved again on January 22, 1973, to 185 North St. Joseph Avenue in Kankakee. In 1980, it changed its trust powers to full. Following a main office move on September 10, 1990, to 189 North Kinzie Avenue in Bradley, Illinois, the bank acquired Crest Federal Savings and Loan Association on September 14, 1990. The institution officially changed its name to Peoples Bank of Kankakee County on January 1, 1992, and subsequently relocated its main office to 315 Main Street in Bourbonnais, Illinois, on the same day. On April 27, 1993, the bank changed its trust powers to none.
