Pennian Bank, originally established as The First National Bank of Mifflintown on April 19, 1889, is a state-chartered financial institution located in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. The bank underwent several significant changes throughout its history. In 1981, it expanded its offerings by acquiring full trust powers. On June 29, 2017, the institution rebranded itself as Pennian Bank and simultaneously changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), transitioning to a state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System. On the same date, the bank officially withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and designated the state as its chartering agency.
