History Of PCSB Bank
PCSB Bank, originally established as Putnam County Savings Bank in 1871, has undergone several transformations throughout its history. On June 30, 2002, the bank moved its main office to 2477 Route 6 in Brewster, New York. In 2015, it rebranded itself as PCSB Bank and expanded its operations through the acquisition of Cms Bank in Mount Vernon, New York, on April 29, 2015. The bank transitioned from a Stock Savings Bank to a Commercial Bank on December 31, 2018, at which point it also changed its bank class to a State Chartered Bank, not a member of the Federal Reserve System. Following this, PCSB Bank acquired Pcsb Commercial Bank in Brewster, New York, later that year. The institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System on January 10, 2023, resulting in a change of its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and its classification to a State Chartered Bank, member of the Federal Reserve System.

I am addressing the switchover from PCSB to the new Brookline Bank Corp. If this survives, it will be the biggest surprise in the banking industry. The switchover left customers hanging with no real notice except for a multipage notice via USPS mail with print too small to decern.
