History Of Park Federal Savings Bank

Park Federal Savings Bank was established on January 1, 1921, under the original name Gage Park Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a transition in organization type to a Mutual Savings Bank and later to a Stock Savings Bank by August 9, 1996. The name was officially changed to Park Federal Savings Bank on December 28, 1994, the same day it also transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). On July 21, 2011, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The main office of the bank was moved to 5400 South Pulaski Road, Chicago, Illinois, on October 15, 1997. On April 30, 2016, Park Federal Savings Bank merged with Royal Savings Bank in Chicago, Illinois. The bank ultimately merged again on January 31, 2022, becoming part of Peoples Bank in Munster, Indiana.
