History Of Old Second National Bank
Old Second National Bank, established on November 21, 1887, originally operated under the name The Old Second National Bank of Aurora. The bank has undergone several acquisitions and name changes throughout its history. Notably, in 1997, it acquired First State Bank of Maple Park; in 1999, it purchased both The Old Second Community Bank of North Aurora and The Old Second Community Bank of Aurora. The bank continued to expand in the 2000s, acquiring Bank of Sugar Grove in February 2000 and relocating its main office to 37-39 South River Street, Aurora, Illinois, in June of the same year. In July 2007, the institution changed its name to Old Second National Bank and completed multiple acquisitions, including Old Second Bank-Kane County and Old Second Bank-Yorkville. Other acquisitions followed, notably Heritage Bank in February 2008 and Abc Bank in April 2018. Most recently, on August 29, 2021, Old Second National Bank acquired West Suburban Bank in Lombard, Illinois.
