Branch review: Palos Park Branch

I was there yesterday on the branch located 9700 S. 131 in Palos park, the manager asked me what do you want, I want to open account. ok give your ID. then your SS. he did not ask me to sit. then are you sure you want to open an account, yes. Ok the minimum is $750 to open. good if less than 750 o you will be charge 8 to 9 dollars.

It looks like they do not want to work and were so rude to me. I checked on line to find that the minimum amount to open an acct. is 50 dollars. very bad manger and the branch was empty, there were 4 worker inside the bank and I am the only one in the bank. it was snow and I waste my time and felt unwanted.

Bank review

I finally had it after the merger or acquisition in July 2022 from First Midwest to ONB. (I WISH FMB NEVER ALLOWED THE ACQUISITION TO HAPPEN). The wait period via phone was ridiculous. I waited over 2 hours to speak with an associate from where I don't know as I attempted to call the Zion, IL location. After that failure many times over, I attempted to call the Gurnee, IL location and that was worse. Not one associate could help answer (after waiting for 2 hours and 15 minutes) when my new debit card and checks would be ordered or even mailed. Said associate needed to speak to a banker...why? (I thought they all could help with simple questions like these). I never received an email or a call back. Worst customer service. ONB should have prepared. When it's your money and you work like a dog to earn it and trust a bank to hold it utterly became a fear and caused major anxiety. Finally, after a few weeks, I received my debit card, but no checks...surprise, surprise. Also, their overdraft fees are absurd. National average received in overdrafts fees was over $15 billion in 2019 from all banks combined. They make over a 3rd of their revenue charging you high fees when they really don't need to. ONB's policy is if you overdraw your account by $25 or less, they charge no fee. That is absolutely incorrect. They charge you and continue to charge you. You can control your debit card by removing the overdraft protection plan, but it'll benefit you if you do not allow them to pay your bill(s) to avoid a fee or many fees in fact. Also, if you've allowed ACH transactions with a creditor, bill collector, etc., there is no overdraft protection plan allowing YOU TO CHOOSE if you want that as an option or not. ONB just lets it happen and is happy to charge you. It is the endless battle of inflated fees and fake promises. Pending transactions take too long to post and checks to be posted, as well. ONB went with a new software company and actually had to fire them because they couldn't produce the results warranted in the contract which left ONB seeking another software company. Again, not the consumers issue nor problem. In addition, trying to cancel your checking account is worst of it all. ONB makes this very very very very very very very difficult. They'll have you clear out your funds, put a stop on your debit card, but not your ACH checking account....why is that! After working with many of my creditors to update their system with my new bank information ONB still does not care. Let's let transactions continue to happen. They have to wait until pending transactions post even when your money is already been deducted from your available balance. They say, "we have to wait until the account is at a zero balance with no pending transactions". Ummmm, no they do not. I have worked with many banks over the years, and they do have an option to cancel the account anytime regardless of activity. Scamming on fees and keeping you tied in where they take pleasure to hurting your right to access a new account with the many different banking institutions out there all the while they continue to compound fees. I am fed up. Business acumen and customer service is not the same but the greed has improved -ha!

I do not understand why it takes 7 days for an external funds transfer. First Midwest got it done in 3. I don't understand why "pending" status does not update to the actual organization withdrawing funds for 3-4 days. This is just insane. Plus I hate their logo colors.

Branch review: Zion Branch

The Zion branch is the pitts of the earth. long lines;... Have to see a personal bank for the smallest of transactions. Tellers have blank faces and when you ask them a question they act like you are the biggest pain in their a--. The worse cutomer service that i have ever experienced and its not limited to one visit... Its every time i set foot in that place.

Branch review: Peotone Branch

Working with First Midwest bank for thirty years never ever had problems like this. The service at the Peotone Il branch is HORRIBLE!! The employees make you feel like they are doing a favor. The visit starts out with no greeting when you walk in the front door to asking them a simple question to them rolling there eyes like the customer is wasting there time. Taking all my business accounts and checking down the street where Im sure will be appreciated !!

I'm 72 years old and have dealt with several banks over the years. I have never had dealings with a bank like this. I had to call customer service because of something Old National messed up. I was on hold for 2 hours (I kept them on speaker) finally being totally frustrated I terminated the call. A phone call the first thing next morning informed me that customer service was taking no calls!!! As I hated dealing with these people, I went to a local bank and obtained a loan that I had with Old National. A loan originally obtained from Old Midwest Bank (from which I got stellar service) I used bill pay to pay off the balance of my loan. This was only thee beginning of my troubles!!! I have never been treated so badly from ANYONE I have done business. It cost me an extra $317,00 to pay off my loan and 2 days to figure out my payment history which was a royal mess. These people have absolutely no idea of what they are doing...

Horrible customer service. Started with Bank of Home 1977. Gone through 4 mergers. Never had a problem like this. Impossible to speak with a customer service rep. Put on hold for hour. Called several locations left message. also put on hold. Service was very good with First Midwest.

I see that it takes 7 working days (9 days total) to pay a bill online. When it was First Midwest it only took 3. Great upgrade in service. How did they get up to a 2.3 in rating I will never know.

The worst bank ever.
I used to be a First midwest Bank customer for over 9 years, Never hade a problem. I Zell $200.00 to my Brother on the 20th of sep and today the 22nd of sep and the money on hold but they took the money from my account on the 20th. Matter of fact i'm writing this while on the phone with ONB waiting for over 25 minutes on the line. I Called them yesterday and the agent told me it's Zell issue, I'm calling again today and still waiting for an answer after calling Zell and they couldn't help me since i have zell through the bank. Horrible customer service, bad phone waiting time.

Merger from First Midwest not too good. Not friendly now, wait longer for automatic deposits to go through on business account. Web site is horrible and NOT very user friendly (on both business and personal accounts). I handle the banking for 9 accounts, both business and personal. I think they need to take a page out of First Midwest's book when it comes to website and ACH. Not happy at all. Looking to switch banks on ALL accounts.

Branch review: Crestwood Branch

Worst place for Banking! Tellers are slow, they do more chatting than work. Customers we have to wait for long time to get any service! No deposit slipts available for customers. I have to do the line to get a couple of some deposit slipt waiting for 20 minutes. Finally, when I got my turn they said they are short with the deposit slipts... Waisting Time For Nothing!!! what a Lack of respect for customers. Banking somewhere else or take a risk to get your turn. Ugly!

Very very unhappy ! After over 30 years with the same checking account number Old National Bank came along to only change my entire account information. Also, I honestly waited on the phone for 2 hours & 54 seconds, Really! Old Old National Bank.

Bank review

Multidimensionally and serially incompetent; by far the worst banking experience I've ever had in this country. ONB botched its takeover of First Midwest, big time (in stark contrast to First Midwest's totally seamless, pain-free takeover of my beloved community bank 3 years ago). Both customers and branch staff are heading for the exits.

For starters, it took a dehumanizing 1.5 hours on the phone to activate my new HSA debit card, something that should have taken under 2 minutes. I've spent the past 2 days camping out at my branch and they still can't figure out how to get me my main debit card because ONB's computer system is chronically slow, glitch-ridden, and/or simply down and they have no suggestions for how to proceed--unbelievable! Data integration has been an utter FIASCO: bill pay and automatic payments didn't convert and I've spent countless hours trying to redo everything myself. ONB's mobile app won't load on my phone. Messaging has been wildly inconsistent from the get-go, and branch customer-service personnel can't tell me even basic info about policies nearly 3 weeks after the merger. There is apparently no end to how bad this can get--it's like banking in India used to be back in the 1980s (NOT a compliment)!

Bank review

I was a customer of First Midwest Bank which was taken over by Old National Bank effective 07/11/2022. Since the take over I have not had proper access to my funds. Old National Bank shut off First Midwest debit cards on 07/11/2022, shutting off my direct access to my funds. I have not received a debit card from the Old National Bank despite ordering a card on 06/16/2022, 07/11/2022, 07/11/2022, 07/25/2022, 07/27/2022, and 07/29/2022. According to several customer service representatives, Bashira, Karen, Jardan, Jessica, Evan, and Sarah there were debit cards ordered all sent to the wrong address (two different wrong addresses), even though they repeatedly tell me they have my correct address on file. How incompetent can this bank be? Is this bank denying me access to my funds, has it stolen my funds?

I have been unable to get ahold of anyone who has the access or the power to get me a debit card or access to my funds. I have requested to have my funds wired out of the bank so I can get access to pay bills, buy gas, buy groceries etc. I was told by customer care the only way I can wire funds is to personally come into a branch location which I am unable to do as I currently reside in the state of Arizona and there is not a physical location of this new bank within a thousand miles.

Note, every listed number routes to a customer service representative which results in hour upon hour of waiting on hold. It is not legal for the bank to seize my funds, cutting off access to me without a court order.

Terrible! I have been on hold twice for over an hour and sent many e-mails to them with no answer. This bank has horrible customer service, and I don't care if they just merged with another bank. You should have been prepared. Just about any bank would be better than this one at this point.

ONB not handling purchase of First Midwest well. My automatic debit for my loan was disabled due to new loan number. I went to their site and filled out a new debit authorization form. I sent a check for the July payment they didn't deduct, and the new form to begin debiting in August. They cashed my check, then 7/25 deducted my August 14th loan payment, overdrawing my account. Have tried calling several times, holding over an hour each time, but no luck. My rating is a minus 1 for Customer Service. No on-line help is dark ages...

Branch review: Saint John Branch

Wish there was an option for zero stars. Consistent problems over an extended period of time here. Previously First Midwest but now Old National. Branch Manager here is Michelle Williams. I am amazed that she has kept her job. Maybe the entire culture here is so pitiful that her complete lack of care and attention does not even show up as pure neglect. Looks like their lending practices may be discriminatory, as well. https://www.chicagobusiness.com/finance-banking/first-midwest-buyer-old-national-accused-lending-discrimination

This merger with first Midwest is a nightmare. I have bills to pay can't get through to see if my checks were ordered. I am currently on hold 21/2 hours. Can't get the on line banking to set up. This bank is just horrible. I'm thinking if I can't get these issues resolved I'm taking my 3 accounts elsewhere. Worst bank EVER!!!

Absolutely the worst merger. Did not clearing state how bad it would be. Accounts are locked and no way to access them for a week. Unable to access prior account info. Do yourself a favor leave this bank and do not return.

Branch review: Alsip Branch

Since opening in Alsip IL you cannot get get any responses. Called and left on hold for 2 hours. What company that has that long of a wait time doesn't get your phone number and return your call. Sent e mails, again no response. Also cannot make an appointment to see someone. Totally not satisfied.
