Ocean City Home Bank was established on January 1, 1912, originally named The Ocean City Home Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and status changes. On November 21, 1997, it changed its name to Ocean City Home Bank and converted from a mutual savings bank to a stock savings bank, with its primary federal regulatory agency changing to the Office of Thrift Supervision. On August 1, 2011, Ocean City Home Bank acquired Select Bank, located in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. Following this acquisition, on July 21, 2011, its primary federal regulatory agency shifted to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The organization continued to operate until it merged with OceanFirst Bank in Toms River, New Jersey, on November 30, 2016. Subsequently, on January 31, 2018, the institution changed its name to OceanFirst Bank, National Association.
