HISTORY OF NORTHWEST BANK & TRUST COMPANY
Northwest Bank & Trust Company, originally established as Northwest Bank and Trust Company on July 7, 1941, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. The institution changed its name to Northwest Bank & Trust Company on February 25, 1974, and the main office was relocated to 100 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa, on February 24, 1975. In April 1998, the bank underwent a reorganization, altering its structure to that of a stock savings bank and changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision. This reorganization also involved a subsequent change in its chartering agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision. By September 30, 2011, the bank transitioned to being regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. However, on September 30, 2012, it changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and became a state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System.
