Northfield Bank is a federally chartered savings bank that was originally established in 1887 under the name Northfield Savings Bank, FSB. Over the years, the bank has undergone several name and organizational changes. In 1993, it rebranded as Northfield Savings Bank and transitioned to a state-chartered institution regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. In 2007, Northfield Bank changed its classification to a Federal Savings Bank and subsequently moved its primary regulatory oversight to the Office of Thrift Supervision. The bank's main office moved to 1731 Victory Boulevard in Staten Island, New York, in 1985 and again in 2000. Since then, Northfield Bank has expanded through various acquisitions, including resolving financial challenges of other banks; it acquired Security Federal Savings and Loan Association of Staten Island in 1983, Flatbush Federal Savings and Loan Association in 2012, and Victory State Bank in Staten Island in July 2020. This is the worst branch located in Staten Island New York they mess up transactions and blame the customers you are not supposed to inquire about your funds and the manager Jeremy Minore don't have people skills which is what professional banks look for in a person before they hire. Couldn't be more dissatisfied with my Northfield experience. They cashed a check that was endorsed by an individual that was fraud. It's been 3 months and now they are telling me it will be another three months before I could possibly see the money returned. It was not my mistake. It was the bank's.
