Northeast Missouri State Bank is a financial institution that was established on December 20, 1933, originally operating under the name Schuyler County State Bank. In 1979, the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. Significant changes occurred in 1988 when the bank changed its name to Northeast Missouri State Bank, the main office was relocated to 600 South Baltimore in Kirksville, Missouri, and the bank acquired First Security Bank in Lancaster, Missouri, on September 2 of that year. On April 10, 2006, Northeast Missouri State Bank further expanded its operations by acquiring La Plata State Bank in La Plata, Missouri.
