North Bank was established on March 16, 1970, originally under the name North Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes. On July 1, 1997, the main office was relocated to 501 North Clark Street in Chicago, Illinois. This location served as the main office until January 31, 2011, when it was moved again to 431 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois. In a major development, North Bank changed its name to North Bank on October 16, 1972. The institution continued to operate until July 2, 2015, when it merged with and became part of Wintrust Bank, based in Chicago, Illinois. Finally, on October 1, 2019, the institution updated its name to Wintrust Bank, National Association.
