History Of NexBank
NexBank, originally established as Terrell Federal Savings and Loan Association on November 30, 1934, is a financial institution that has undergone several name and structural changes throughout its history. In 1999, the bank rebranded to Heritage Savings Bank, SSB, and transitioned from a mutual savings bank to a federally regulated institution overseen by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Subsequently, the institution changed its name to Heritage Bank, SSB in March 2002, followed by a shift in organization type to a stock savings bank later that year. In August 2005, the bank adopted the name NexBank, SSB. The main office moved several times within Dallas, Texas, with the most recent relocation occurring on April 29, 2013, to 2515 McKinney Avenue. On December 1, 2015, NexBank acquired College Savings Bank located in Princeton, New Jersey. On July 1, 2020, NexBank changed its organization type to a commercial bank, reclassified itself as a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System (FRS), and officially dropped "SSB" from its name, becoming simply known as NexBank.
