National Exchange Bank and Trust is a financial institution established on December 20, 1933, originally named National Exchange Bank of Fond du Lac. In 1976, the bank changed its name to National Exchange Bank and Trust of Fond du Lac, reflecting its growth and expanded services. The institution underwent significant expansion through a series of acquisitions, starting with the acquisition of Mount Calvary State Bank in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin, on June 23, 1989. Subsequent acquisitions included the State Bank of Cascade in Cascade, Wisconsin, in June 1994, as well as Adell State Bank and Bank of Elkhart Lake, both on November 1, 1995. The name was updated to National Exchange Bank and Trust in May 1994. In September 2016, the bank acquired American Bank located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and later acquired NBW Bank in Waupun, Wisconsin, on January 24, 2020.
