History Of National Bank of Commerce

The National Bank of Commerce, originally established as Red Mountain Bank, National Association, on June 21, 2004, operated primarily in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the following years, the bank relocated its main office several times within the Birmingham area, moving to various suites in the Inverness Center Parkway through 2007. On November 1, 2010, it changed its name to National Bank of Commerce. In 2015, the bank began a series of acquisitions, taking over United Legacy Bank in Winter Park, Florida, followed by Reunion Bank of Florida later that year. Subsequent acquisitions included Private Bank of Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia; Patriot Bank in Trinity, Florida; FirstAtlantic Bank in Jacksonville, Florida; Premier Community Bank of Florida in Bradenton, Florida; and First Landmark Bank in Marietta, Georgia, through 2018. The bank's main office was moved to 600 Luckie Drive, Suite 200, Birmingham, Alabama, on August 3, 2018. On April 1, 2019, the institution merged with CenterState Bank, National Association. Following this merger, the institution underwent a name change to SouthState Bank, National Association, initially on June 8, 2020, and again officially finalized on November 5, 2021.
