MutualBank

MutualBank was established in 1889 under the name Mutual Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Muncie. It underwent several organizational changes throughout its history, including a name change to Mutual Federal Savings Bank on April 30, 1984, and subsequently to MutualBank on July 1, 2008. During its operation as a commercial bank, MutualBank expanded through various acquisitions, notably acquiring Warsaw Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1981, First Federal Savings Bank of Marion in 2000, and Mfb Financial in 2008. In February 2018, MutualBank further expanded its operations by acquiring BloomBank in Bloomfield, Indiana. By January 1, 2012, it made significant regulatory adjustments, changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and its organization type to a commercial bank. Ultimately, on April 24, 2020, MutualBank merged with Northwest Bank based in Warren, Pennsylvania, marking the conclusion of its independent operation.
