History Of Mutual Savings Association
Mutual Savings Association is a financial institution that was established on January 1, 1888, under the original name Mutual Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, it has undergone several name and regulatory changes. On April 30, 1988, the institution was renamed Mutual Savings Association. On March 10, 1993, it was renamed again to Mutual Savings Association, Fsa, and at that time, its primary federal regulatory agency was changed to the Office of Thrift Supervision. Following subsequent changes, the regulatory oversight transitioned to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on July 21, 2011. The most recent transformation occurred on December 28, 2018, when the institution adopted its current name, Mutual Savings Association, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
