Morgan Stanley Bank, National Association, is a commercial bank located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The institution was originally established as Mountainwest Financial Corporation on May 25, 1990, when it acquired Mountainwest Savings and Loan Association, a federal savings and loan in Ogden, Utah. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes, including becoming Mountainwest Financial Corporation in April 1993, and later, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Bank, Inc. on November 10, 1998. The name was simplified to Morgan Stanley Bank on October 18, 2001. In 2008, the bank transitioned to its current name, Morgan Stanley Bank, National Association, on September 23, and moved its main office to the fifth floor of 201 South Main Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. On the same date, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, became a national bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System.
