History Of Montana State Bank
Montana State Bank was established on May 25, 1917, originally operating under the name The First National Bank of Reserve. Over its long history, the bank underwent several significant changes. On January 1, 1995, it changed its name to Montana State Bank and transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve System, while also changing its chartering agency to a state entity. After more than two decades as Montana State Bank, the institution merged with Bank of Bridger, National Association, on January 20, 2017, effectively becoming part of the latter and ceasing its independent operations.
