Monroe Savings Bank, originally established as The Monroe Savings and Loan Association of Williamstown, New Jersey, in 1870, has a long history of evolution and regulatory changes. Over the decades, the institution underwent several significant changes, including a rebranding to Monroe Savings Bank, S.L.A. on May 31, 1988. A notable transition occurred on September 12, 2007, when the chartering agency was changed to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS).
