Midland States Bank, originally founded as Effingham State Bank in 1881, is a financial institution headquartered in Effingham, Illinois. The bank underwent a name change to Midland States Bank on July 1, 2005, as part of its growth and expansion strategy. Over the years, Midland has significantly increased its presence through a series of acquisitions, including Centralia Savings Bank in 2000 and Sun Security Bank of America in 2004. The bank continued its expansion by acquiring Commercial State Bank of Waterloo in 2009 and Strategic Capital Bank in the same year as part of government-assisted mergers. Notable acquisitions in the following years include Westbridge Bank and Trust in 2010, The First National Bank of Grant Park in 2013, Centrue Bank in 2017, and Alpine Bank & Trust Co. in 2018. Every since you changed from Alpine Bank your service is lacking. Messed up transactions, slow service. Just left after almost 10 minutes waiting in the drive thru with only one other car pulling up after me, no one ahead or beside me. Excuse was they were very busy but no inside customers in sight and 5 or 6 employee cars in the lot.... Read more
