History Of MidCountry Bank
MidCountry Bank, originally established as First State Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1933, has undergone several changes in its organizational structure, name, and ownership over the years. The institution was incorporated as a mutual savings bank and later transitioned to a stock savings bank in 1994. In the same year, it changed its name to First Federal Fsb and acquired First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Hastings in Hastings, Minnesota. In 2004, the bank rebranded as MidCountry Bank after acquiring MidCountry Bank in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Subsequent relocations of the main office occurred, including moves to Metropolis, Illinois in 2004, and later to Marion, Illinois in 2006. Notably, MidCountry Bank switched its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in July 2011. The bank continued to grow, acquiring South Pointe Bank in Marion, Illinois in November 2006, and Lake Community Bank in Long Lake, Minnesota in January 2024. Recently, on October 1, 2024, MidCountry Bank acquired Red Rock Bank located in Sanborn, Minnesota, and moved its main office to 7825 Washington Avenue South in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
