Metuchen Savings Bank was established in 1897 as The Metuchen Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a transition to a mutual savings bank on November 30, 1993, when it adopted the name Metuchen Savings Bank. In 2002, it restructured its organization type to become a stock savings bank and changed its bank classification to an FDIC Supervised State Savings Bank. On April 1, 2019, Metuchen Savings Bank merged with Manasquan Bank, which is based in Manasquan, New Jersey, thereby concluding its independent operations.
