History Of Metro Bank

Metro Bank, originally established as Commerce Bank/Harrisburg on June 1, 1985, underwent several name and regulatory changes throughout its history. On October 7, 1994, the institution was renamed Commerce Bank/Harrisburg National Association, and its chartering agency was updated to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The main office located at 100 Senate Avenue in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, also relocated to 1249 Market Street in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, on April 29, 2006. As part of its regulatory transitions, the bank changed its name to Commerce Bank/Harrisburg on November 7, 2008, at which point it withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and shifted to a state-chartered bank regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. On July 21, 2009, the institution was renamed Metro Bank. Ultimately, on February 13, 2016, Metro Bank merged with and became part of the First National Bank of Pennsylvania based in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
