Metro Bank was established on January 6, 1997, under the original name Louisville Community Development Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent rebranding and on January 3, 2011, it officially changed its name to Metro Bank. On June 1, 2015, the bank relocated its main office to 900 South 12th Street in Louisville, Kentucky. The institution continued its operations until April 22, 2020, when it merged and became part of Liberty Bank and Trust Company based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
