History Of Pathward
Pathward, National Association, is a financial institution that was established on January 1, 1954, originally named First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Storm Lake. The organization underwent several name changes and structural transformations over the years, including becoming First Federal Savings Bank of the Midwest in September 1993 and later changing to MetaBank in January 2005. In April 2020, MetaBank transitioned into a commercial bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, adopting the name Metabank, National Association. Later that same day, it officially changed its name to Pathward, National Association. The main office was relocated to 5501 South Broadband Lane in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on both April 1, 2020, and October 10, 2015. Pathward has expanded its operations through acquisitions, notably acquiring Iowa Savings Bank in December 1995 and Crestmark Bank in August 2018. I have been with Meta Bank for years.
