Mercantile Bank is a financial institution established on December 15, 1997, initially named Mercantile Bank of West Michigan. The bank's main office was first located at 216 North Division Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On May 16, 2005, the institution underwent a rebranding, changing its name to Mercantile Bank of Michigan. The main office subsequently moved to 310 Leonard Street NW in Grand Rapids on August 1, 2005. Over the years, Mercantile Bank expanded its operations through acquisitions, including the purchase of Keystone Community Bank and Firstbank in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, both completed on June 30, 2014. In a further rebranding effort, the bank officially changed its name to simply Mercantile Bank on March 1, 2022.
