Mechanics Bank

Mechanics Bank was established in 1892 under the original name The Mechanics Savings Bank in Water Valley, Mississippi. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a name change to Mechanics Bank on March 2, 1992. The bank's main office was relocated on April 10, 1990, to Main Street in Water Valley, and later moved to 319 North Main Street in the same town on March 1, 2005. In 2004, Mechanics Bank expanded its services by obtaining full trust powers. The bank's independent operation concluded on January 1, 2023, when it merged with BankFirst Financial Services, based in Columbus, Mississippi.
