History Of McClain Bank
McClain Bank, originally established as The McLain County National Bank of Purcell on March 8, 1922, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. On September 19, 1935, the institution changed its name to The McClain County National Bank of Purcell. In the early 1990s, the bank expanded its operations by acquiring First National Bank in Purcell, Oklahoma, on July 26, 1990, and First State Bank in Lexington, Oklahoma, on December 13, 1990. The institution changed its name again to McClain Bank National Association on January 23, 2001. On December 21, 2004, it transitioned to a state-chartered bank, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and adopted its current name, McClain Bank, while also changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
