History Of Mascoma Bank
Mascoma Bank is a mutual savings bank founded on January 1, 1899, originally established as Mascoma Savings Bank. Over the years, the institution has undergone several significant changes in its regulatory and organizational structure. In 1996, it transitioned from a stock savings bank to a mutual savings bank and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision. By July 21, 2011, the regulatory oversight shifted to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On March 11, 2013, Mascoma Bank expanded its trust powers to full status. The bank further evolved in August 2014 when it acquired Connecticut River Bank, National Association, located in Springfield, Vermont. Most recently, on October 2, 2017, Mascoma Savings Bank was renamed Mascoma Bank, became a state-chartered bank, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. This change also marked its formal membership in the Federal Reserve System.
