History Of Mars Bank
Mars Bank was established on October 16, 1900, originally named The Mars National Bank. It moved its main office to 145 Grand Avenue, Mars, Pennsylvania, shortly after its establishment. On June 26, 2017, the institution underwent significant changes, including a rebranding to Mars Bank, and transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). On the same date, Mars Bank changed its classification to a state-chartered bank and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, thus becoming a state-chartered institution. This marked a shift in its operational framework. After several years of operation under its new name, Mars Bank merged with Nextier Bank, National Association, on February 16, 2024, and ceased to exist as an independent entity in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
