History Of Lone Star State Bank of West Texas
Lone Star State Bank of West Texas was established on August 9, 1919, originally named The First National Bank of Brownfield. Over the decades, the institution underwent several name changes and structural modifications, including a withdrawal from the Federal Reserve System in 2006. It became known as The First Bank of Brownfield and later as Lone Star State Bank of West Texas on October 9, 2008, when it acquired a counterpart in Lubbock, Texas. Following this acquisition, the bank changed its regulatory status to a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The main office of the bank moved several times within Lubbock, with its final relocation occurring on December 17, 2012. On April 1, 2024, Lone Star State Bank of West Texas merged with Prosperity Bank, located in El Campo, Texas, marking the conclusion of its independent operations.
