History Of Logan Bank & Trust Company
Logan Bank & Trust Company, established on November 24, 1964, originally operated under this name with trust powers designated as limited. Over the years, the institution underwent several regulatory and structural changes. On May 17, 1985, it expanded its operational capabilities by acquiring full trust powers. In 1996, Logan Bank & Trust Company further expanded its footprint by acquiring the Bank of Chapmanville located in Chapmanville, West Virginia. The bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System on September 12, 2001, coinciding with a change in its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve (FED) and transforming into a state-chartered bank. However, this membership was relinquished on December 5, 2017, when the bank changed its regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and reclassified itself as a state-chartered bank, no longer a member of the Federal Reserve System.
