History Of Liberty Federal Savings Bank

Liberty Federal Savings Bank, established on January 1, 1918, originally operated under the name Liberty Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the decades, the institution underwent several name changes and structural shifts. On April 30, 1988, it rebranded to Liberty Federal Savings and Loan Association of Enid, and later, on October 31, 1990, it changed its name to Liberty Fsb while also becoming a mutual savings bank. In 1990, the main office was moved to 401 West Broadway in Enid, Oklahoma. The bank gained full trust powers on September 23, 1998, and on July 21, 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In a significant transition, Liberty Federal Savings Bank changed its organization type to a stock savings bank on May 18, 2018, and that same day merged with Great Plains National Bank located in Elk City, Oklahoma.
