History Of Leitchfield Deposit Bank

Leitchfield Deposit Bank was established on January 1, 1897, originally known as Leitchfield Deposit Bank & Trust Company. Over the years, the institution evolved and, on April 24, 1974, expanded its operations by changing its trust powers to full. On April 8, 1998, Leitchfield Deposit Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. The bank continued to operate until it merged with The Cecilian Bank, based in Cecilia, Kentucky, on May 21, 2016, thereby ceasing to exist as an independent entity.
