History Of Leighton State Bank
Leighton State Bank is a community bank established on July 14, 1911, originally under the name Farmers Savings Bank. The institution underwent a name change on October 27, 1997, when it became known as Leighton State Bank. On the same day, the main office was relocated to 704 Liberty Street in Pella, Iowa. Prior to this, the bank had operated from its main office at 225 Otley Street in Leighton, Iowa, which it moved to on September 30, 1989. This location was previously the main office from July 31, 1990, until the 1997 move to Pella. The bank expanded its operations by acquiring Monroe State Bank in Monroe, Iowa, on May 23, 2014.
