Legacy Bank

Legacy Bank was established on January 1, 1904, under the name Farmers Savings Bank. The institution underwent a name change to Legacy Bank on October 1, 2001, marking a significant shift in its branding. Over the years, Legacy Bank relocated its main office several times, starting with its original location in Mitchellville, Iowa. On December 20, 1976, the main office moved to 215 Center Street South in Mitchellville. Subsequently, on July 11, 1994, it moved to 204 8th Street Southwest in Altoona, Iowa, and then again on April 17, 1995, to 502 8th Street Southwest in Altoona. Legacy Bank continued its operations until it merged with VisionBank of Iowa on November 1, 2022, thereby ceasing to exist as an independent institution.
