Layton State Bank was established on August 28, 1920, originally operating under the name Layton Park State Bank. The bank underwent a significant name change on July 13, 1970, adopting the name Layton State Bank. On the same day, the main office relocated to 2740 West Forest Home Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Over the years, the bank continued to evolve and, on September 4, 2012, moved its main office to 10427 West Lincoln Avenue in West Allis, Wisconsin. A major milestone occurred on October 28, 2016, when Layton State Bank merged with North Shore Bank, FSB, located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Subsequently, on September 23, 2022, the institution officially changed its name to North Shore Bank.
