Lake County Bank was established on April 16, 1945, as a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System on March 29, 1948. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes in its main office location, moving to Main Street in Saint Ignatius, Montana, on April 19, 1990, again to Main Street in Saint Ignatius on April 23, 2002, and finally relocating to 102 Crystal Street in Saint Ignatius on December 31, 2008. On April 11, 2015, Lake County Bank merged with Valley Bank of Ronan, located in Ronan, Montana, effectively ceasing to operate as an independent institution.
