History Of Lafayette Ambassador Bank

Lafayette Ambassador Bank was established on August 22, 1922, originally under the name Lafayette Trust Company. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes, including becoming Lafayette Trust Bank in 1966 and Lafayette Bank in 1988. On December 30, 1988, Lafayette Bank acquired The Pen Argyl National Bank, marking the beginning of its expansion through acquisitions. The bank further expanded by acquiring The Second National Bank of Nazareth on June 3, 1991, and Ambassador Bank of the Commonwealth on September 11, 1998. Following these acquisitions, it changed its name to Lafayette Ambassador Bank on the same day. In 1998, the bank also became a state-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. After relocating its main office to 2005 City Line Road, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on November 4, 2011, Lafayette Ambassador Bank continued its operations until it merged with Fulton Bank, National Association on September 14, 2019, thus becoming part of the larger banking institution based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
