History Of Jacksonville Savings Bank
Jacksonville Savings Bank was established on January 1, 1917, originally operating under the name Jacksonville Savings and Loan Association. In 1992, the institution changed its name to Jacksonville Savings Bank and transitioned from a Mutual Savings Bank to a Stock Savings Bank. The bank expanded its operations over the years, acquiring Litchfield Community Savings, S.B. in Litchfield, Illinois, on January 3, 1997, and acquiring Chapin State Bank in Chapin, Illinois, on July 3, 2000. In April 2000, Jacksonville Savings Bank redefined its trust powers to a limited status. The main office was relocated to 1211 West Morton Avenue in Jacksonville, Illinois, on July 26, 1995. Ultimately, on February 15, 2019, Jacksonville Savings Bank merged with CNB Bank and Trust, N.A., and ceased to operate as an independent entity.
