History Of IDB Bank
IDB Bank, originally established as IDB Trust Company in 1922, is a commercial bank that underwent significant changes throughout its history. Initially not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the bank became FDIC insured on July 1, 1969, and subsequently changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the FDIC. The institution altered its name to Israel Discount Trust Company on December 14, 1971, which was later changed to Israel Discount Bank of New York on January 1, 1981. Over the years, IDB Bank expanded its presence through several acquisitions, including Manufacturer's Bank of Florida on December 7, 2001, and Hamilton Bank, National Association in Miami, Florida, as part of a government-assisted merger on January 11, 2002. Additionally, on June 2, 2000, the bank acquired Monument National Bank in Ridgecrest, California, under similar circumstances.
