HISTORY OF IOWA PRAIRIE BANK
Iowa Prairie Bank was established in 1929 under the name First State Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes. In 1981, the main office was relocated to 302 Oak Street in Brunsville, Iowa. The bank changed its name to Prairie State Bank in 1999 and acquired Farmers State Bank located in Merrill, Iowa, later that same year. In 2003, it rebranded again, adopting the name Iowa Prairie Bank. The bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve on January 28, 1998. After nearly two decades as Iowa Prairie Bank, it was ultimately merged into Iowa State Bank based in Hull, Iowa, on December 4, 2021.
