History Of Hudson Valley Bank

Hudson Valley Bank, originally established as Hudson Valley National Bank on May 13, 1972, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. In 1974, the bank changed its name to Hudson Valley National Bank and later, on May 21, 1994, it adopted the name Hudson Valley Bank. That same year, the bank transitioned from state chartering to federal oversight under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrew from the Federal Reserve System. On November 19, 2007, Hudson Valley Bank further evolved by becoming a national bank and member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its name to Hudson Valley Bank, National Association. The bank was involved in various mergers, acquiring New York National Bank in March 2010, and later merged with Sterling National Bank on June 30, 2015. Finally, on February 1, 2022, Hudson Valley Bank merged with Webster Bank, National Association, in Stamford, Connecticut, marking the end of its independent operations.
