HomeTrust Bank, originally established as Clyde Savings and Loan Association in 1926, has undergone significant transformations throughout its history. The institution changed its name to Clyde Savings Bank in 1990, and then to Clyde Savings Bank, Ssb in 1992, reflecting a shift to a mutual savings bank organization type. In the following years, it adopted the name The Hometown Bank in 1996, before rebranding to HomeTrust Bank in 2003. The bank transitioned various regulatory and chartering agencies over the years, culminating in a change to a commercial bank class as part of the Federal Reserve System in 2014. This year marked a precedent of growth through acquisitions, including notable institutions such as Jefferson Federal Bank, Bank of Commerce, and BankGreenville.
