History Of Hometown Bank

Hometown Bank was established in 1907 under the original name State Bank of St. Cloud. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a name change to Hometown Bank on May 14, 1998. The bank relocated its main office to 1200 Main Street in St. Cloud, Wisconsin, on August 1, 1997, and later moved to 80 Sheboygan Street in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, on November 6, 2006. In March 2007, Hometown Bank changed its trust powers to limited. The bank continued to expand through acquisitions, including Farmers Exchange Bank in Neshkoro, Wisconsin, on February 20, 2016, and United Community Bank in Poynette, Wisconsin, on January 25, 2019. On the same day, the bank also changed its trust powers to none and relocated its main office again, this time to Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. Hometown Bank eventually merged with Bank First, N.A., on February 10, 2023, becoming part of the larger financial institution based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
