History Of Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley
Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley was established on January 1, 1919, under the original name Walden Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a change in organization type to a stock savings bank and a reclassification as a federal savings bank on May 18, 2006. On September 12, 2011, the bank adopted its new name, Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley, and subsequently changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. However, the bank's independent operations came to an end when it merged with Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan Association on August 11, 2017, in Wallkill, New York.
