Home Savings & Loan

Home Savings & Loan was established in 1889 as the Home Savings and Loan Company. Over its long history, the institution underwent several name changes and mergers. In 1988, it acquired State Savings and Loan Association in East Palestine, Ohio. The organization transitioned to a Stock Savings & Loan in 1998, followed by an acquisition of Industrial Savings and Loan Association in Bellevue, Ohio, in 2001. In April 2002, it acquired Potters Bank in East Liverpool, Ohio. On July 1, 2003, it changed its name to The Home Savings and Loan Company of Youngstown, Ohio, and subsequently altered its regulatory status to become a FDIC Supervised State Savings Bank. On January 31, 2017, Home Savings Bank merged with Premier Bank & Trust in North Canton, Ohio, and adopted the name Home Savings Bank on that same day. The main office moved to 275 West Federal Street, Youngstown, Ohio, on April 2, 2009. Following a series of changes in ownership and naming, on January 31, 2020, it merged with First Federal Bank of the Midwest, and then changed its institution name to Premier Bank on June 19, 2020.
