Home Federal Savings and Loan Association was established on June 1, 1935. Originally named Home Federal Savings and Loan Association, the organization focused on providing savings and mortgage services to its community. On April 30, 1988, the institution changed its name to Home Federal Savings and Loan Association of Grand Island. In a significant shift in regulatory oversight, on July 21, 2011, the institution changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
