Home Bank of California is a commercial bank that was established on October 31, 1981, originally operating under the name Home Thrift & Loan Association, though it was not initially insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). On November 1, 1994, the institution changed its name to Home Investment and Loan, and subsequently, it relocated its main office to 875 Garnet Avenue in San Diego, California. The bank underwent another name change to Home Bank of California on April 3, 2000. In response to its evolving business model, on July 11, 2008, it changed its organizational type to a commercial bank.
